Happy birthday to Maria Tsangarides who had her 100th birthday with her family and friends at the family owned Mitre Hotel in Paddington on Friday December the 5th 2025.
Bouzouki player Mario Constantinou and singer Dorothea was there to entertain them too.
Maria was born in Lemithou, the youngest and only survivor of five siblings three brothers and one sister.
She married her husband Chris Tsangarides in 1949 who was also from the village of Lemythou and came to England the same year.
They ran the Raffles Cafe near Paddington Station from 1957 and in 1962 they opened the Mitre House Hotel in Paddington which is still owned by the family.
Maria’s husband passed away in February 2005 at the age of 84.She has two children both boys Michael and Andrew and five Grandchildren.
What made her day was her birthday card from King Charles.
