Kaz Foncette, a well-known philanthropist took part as both a judge and presenter at the BBC Make a Difference Awards 2025, an event that celebrates individuals making a positive impact in their communities.
Having served on the preliminary judging panel last year, Foncette took on an even greater role this year by presenting one of the awards. In a post on social media, she expressed how meaningful the experience was for her as the founder of a charity organization, stating:
Turkish Cypriot Kaz Foncette is the Founder of Wigs for Heroes, Kaz was born and raised in Tottenham, North London.
After her second run in with breast cancer in January 2019, Kaz quit a career in HR to focus on not only her recovery but her charity. If she isn’t running around delivering Pamper Bags you’ll find writing for her local paper – The Tottenham Community Press – with her ‘The Frocking Cancer’ Column.
Kaz has also become an integral part of the online cancer community by having a voice online. Her role as a ‘cancer influencer’ and digital fashion content creator has landed her into modelling campaigns with established and start up brands across the world.
