Pafos FC announces the completion of the transfer of Cypriot international defender Nikolas Ioannou, following an agreement with U.C. Sampdoria

Born on 10 November 1995, to Cypriot father and English mother Nikolas Ioannou returns to Pafos as a player of proven pedigree, bringing extensive experience from top-level football in Cyprus and across Europe. He began his footballing journey in Pafos before joining the academy of Manchester United, one of the most demanding development environments in world football.

He later returned to Cyprus with APOEL, where he enjoyed a highly successful period, winning multiple domestic championships and gaining valuable experience in UEFA competitions. During his time with APOEL, Ioannou featured in both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, competing against elite European opposition and establishing himself at the highest continental leve

His career continued abroad with spells in England and Italy, playing for Nottingham Forest before moving to Italy, where he represented Como and most recently Sampdoria. He also competed in the Greek Super League with Aris Thessaloniki, further enriching his experience across different footballing cultures and tactical environments.

Across his club career, Nikolas Ioannou has recorded more than 260 official appearances, contributing consistently at both ends of the pitch with 30 goal involvements. He has been a regular member of the Cyprus national team for several years, earning over 50 international caps and scoring twice for his country.

Renowned for his reliability, tactical intelligence and ability to support the attack from the left flank, Nikolas Ioannou brings leadership, quality and European know-how to the Pafos FC squad.

The player has signed a contract with the club until June 2028 and will wear number 14.
