Bristol Rovers have confirmed that Ruel Sotiriou has left the club to join Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Jerusalem FC.
The 25-year-old featured 61 times in all competitions for the Gas, scoring six and registering three assists. Sotiriou was Rovers’ top goalscorer in League One during the 2024/25 season.
The 25-year-old has struggled for form this campaign, though, making 18 appearances in all competitions without scoring or registering an assist.
On Wednesday at 5:30pm, Rovers released the following statement: “Bristol Rovers can confirm that Ruel Sotiriou has completed a permanent transfer to Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Jerusalem FC for an undisclosed fee.
“Sotiriou joined the Gas in the summer of 2024 from Leyton Orient where he was a massive success.And be came a Cyprus international
At Bristol Rovers he made 61 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.
“Everyone at Bristol Rovers would like to thank Ruel for his efforts in the blue-and-white quarters and wish him every success in his future career.”
The 25-year-old signed a three-year deal for Rovers in June 2024 and enjoyed his best spell in the second half of last season under Inigo Calderon. This included goals against Barnsley, Peterborough United, Rotherham United, Huddersfield Town, and Exeter City.
As already mentioned, though, he has struggled to make an impact so far this season, having started only once under Steve Evans since his appointment on December 16, 2025.

Sotiriou had been left out of the squad in the last two games. After the defeat against Colchester United on Saturday, Evans was asked whether his exclusion was injury-related. He said: “Yeah, he’s injured.
Next up for Sotiriou as he joins Hapoel Jerusalem FC, who are currently 13th in the Israeli top-flight.
