UK Cypriot Antonio Perkins has been selected for Cyprus U19’s to play against Belgium, Slovenia and Sweden this week.

Dudley-born Antonio is a vocal centre-half looking to progress in navy-blue-and-white stripes.

Beginning his footballing education with local sides Netherton Colts, Perkins’ opportunity to move to the Baggies came via a performance for youth team, West Brom All Stars.

Impressing onlooking scouts for his displays at All Stars, the defender was offered his first opportunity at a professional club in Albion – signing aged 13.

An important chapter in his career came in July 2025 when he penned a two-year scholarship deal with the club.

Buoyed by this chance to progress his career in B71, Antonio was a regular for the Under-18s in his first term as a scholar while also making his U21s debut in a Premier League Cup group match against Brentford in December 2025.

A loud voice on the pitch and a motivator to his team-mates, the centre-back is a battler on the pitch and this characteristic is something Perkins has shown for his nation as well – representing Cyprus regularly for their U17s (where he made his debut as a 15-year-old) and U19 team (who he first appeared for at the age of 17).

Stepping up at a higher age level is something Antonio will hope continues at club level, as he looks to establish himself as a consistent performer at the back ahead of fighting for a professional contract.
