UK Cypriot Lewis Koumas arrived at the MKM Stadium fior Hull City from Liverpool last week on loan and immediately announced himself to the club’s supporters with a well-taken winner at Blackburn Rovers nine minutes from time.
That strike on his debut capped an impressive cameo for the 20-year-old Welsh international, who spent the opening months of the campaign on loan at Birmingham City, and he added to his minutes on Tuesday night coming off the bench in the drab 0-0 draw with Watford
Lewis father Jason enjoyed a career that saw him reach both Premier League and international level with home nation Wales.
Jason Koumas is a Welsh former professional footballer who played for Tranmere Rovers, Cardiff City, West Bromwich Albion and Wigan Athletic, as well as the Welsh national team. He spent nine years in the Liverpool academy before joining Tranmere at eighteen.
Asked if he has sought career advice, Lewis said: “My dad was a very good player and a lot of people know that. It’s more like if I have a question or something. My dad just leaves me to it and lets me do my own thing. Lewis paternal grandfather is Cypriot.
“But if I have a question, I’ll definitely go and ask him.”
Lewis is eligible to play for Wales, England and Cyprus.
